A night in Achrafieh

I’ve always wanted to see Safa WFC challenge on the highest level and on my last visit I couldn’t attend much games because of the situation. So this chance might not come again and I have to take it.

On the other hand i had a very busy schedule three trips in one weekend. One got cancelled so now I have two back to back trips!! Meaning I’ll get off the plan and get on another in less than 5 hours. Ohh yes I forgot to tell you that I’ve been covering the news from everyone wanting to surprise the team. As much as Nour Ghadban insisted on me coming as much as I tried to lie about it and made excuses not come.

Just after booking my airlines and organizing my logistics coronavirus started spreading which will make it so hard to break the news to my parents and tell them I’m flying to Beirut for a night before flying to Doha for a week.

For the first time in my life I travel and try to hide from everyone. I wanna see no body talk to nobody I just wanna arrive safely spend a night without anyone noticing and attend the game tomorrow. Thank god the plan was perfect. A night in Achrafieh with only five people knowing I’ll be in Beirut.

The next morning the world was so quite and all I’m thinking about is a win today and surprise the whole squad with my appearance. I can write a book on how I was welcomed by everyone and how all of them were shocked to see me. But nothing will ever be better than their performance that day and defeating the champions of Lebanon for the first time in years.

23rd of February will always be special.

Taking it to the next level!

When we first decided to sponsor Safa WFC we promised to help develop this team by putting all our expertise and experience together to build a team that compete on all levels.

After finishing second in group A and qualifying for the final 8 we strengthen our team with two international players, Luna Almasri from Jordan and Alice Kusi from Ghana. Lea Dahrouge and Priscilla Moussallem two local players we signed earlier as well to help us in the Cup as the rules prevent them to play in the League. To all new four signings Welcome to Safa WFC.

Almost half of the season gone with all its ups and downs. We are so ready for the second half of the season. Jenny started her physio sessions and Assile is doing great after her ACL surgery we can’t wait to see you both on the field again.

We would also take the chance to congratulate two wonderful players that have been crowned Champions of WAFF U18 Rasha Yaghi and Layana Safieddine we’re so proud of you and working hard to add at least one local championship to that.

Our captain hit with ACL tear

Assile Toufaily suffered an ACL tear and will have her surgery earlier next year. She stated “At the end of last season, I had taken the decision to focus on my studies and not sign for any team. Then after many tries, some people convinced me to play for another season or two, to prove my worth. So I decided to sign for Safa hoping for a season better than the last 3 disappointing ones.
The start of the season was good thanks to the intense pre season I had, and I was convinced day after day that this year will be different. Then the match vs BFA came and I got injured. What was at first diagnosed by two doctors as a simple hit, turned out to be a complete tear of the #acl in my left knee, which obviously ended my season.

A big big thank you goes to my personal #1 physio @elie_metni , my go-to whenever I need anything, who was the first to ask for an MRI.
I don’t know if I do believe in bad luck, “3en”, or God’s will, but all I know is that it is mentally draining, especially when it comes to wanting to give to the team but being unable to. But I got this, I’ll be stronger.

Recovery starts now, before the surgery with physio sessions with Elie and the team at @aac_clinic.

Injury makes the comeback sweeter🙏💪. #SafaWFC

We all will be waiting for your return to Safa WFC as you are a huge and wonderful part of our team and undoubtedly have many more achievements coming your way. But for now, it’s time to rest and focus on your rehab.

High Five 🖐

It’s one of the most important games and the girls were up to it with our 5th win this season. With all the circumstances of this game specifically we dominated everything. We had many injuries but whoever was called for this game gave 1000% on the field and off the field.

Five goals from Nicole, Jana 2 and Samira 2 made us level on points with SAS who we are playing next weekend. Great win with amazing performance we couldn’t have wished for something better.

No. 7

After one of the toughest weeks with injuries, suspensions and many other things we’re back with a win against Primo Sports Academy. They did forfeit the game but a win is a win and that’s what were playing for.

What’s magical about number 7 is all of our wins in the league were 7-0 two injured players wear 7 and 77. If you take a closer look there are 7 Safa players in the picture as well.

With two new players on the scoring sheet (Joelle – Nour) and another hat-trick of scoring this time from Anji we’re 3rd in group A. 10 points 3 wins 1 draw 22 goals for and 1 against

She will be back

A week ago our player Jennifer Chehade gone into surgery to fix her broken ankle after she suffered a horrible injury during Safa WFC league match. An injury that have put us all head over toes because it’s a first time experience for all of us.

Today we’re all playing and working hard for Jenni wishing her a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see her back with us.

Here is her own statement “One week has passed since my successful ankle surgery🙏🏻I just want to say thank you for your love thank you for your support thank you for your messages thank you for your prayers.
A BIG thank you for all of you❤️
At first i didnt want to face my situation i just wanted to die i was so weak and depressed. My heart was torn apart when i first saw my twisted ankle on the field😓 no matter how hard the situation is you have to believe in yourself and overcome any obstacle in your life. Cant wait to be back on the field stronger than ever⚽️❤️
Ps: don’t forget the crepe when you want to visit😝”

Get well soon Jennifer and we’ll shower you with crepes and more.
